All Ages, Always
No 21-and-up barrier between people and live art. Kids, students, parents, grandparents — everyone gets a seat.
We started as a monthly mash-up of open mic and arts & crafts. We became a nonprofit venue. The mission never changed: bring people together through art and music.

Morgantown Art Party began as a simple idea: gather once a month, mix an open mic night with arts and crafts, and see who shows up. People showed up. Then they kept showing up.
What started around a few folding tables grew into a formal 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a gallery, a stage, and a workshop — a very creative, DIY-style operation that runs on volunteers, donations, and a lot of love for this town.
Today we host live music, art shows, poetry, workshops, and fundraisers under one roof on Walnut Street. Same spirit as that first open mic, just a bigger room.
A few beliefs hold this whole thing up.
No 21-and-up barrier between people and live art. Kids, students, parents, grandparents — everyone gets a seat.
Most events are free or donation-based. If you can give, great. If you can't, you're still welcome at the door.
We're proudly DIY. The work is local and the room is volunteer-built, rough edges and all.
We use what we do to support the causes our community cares about — and to take care of each other.
A share of what we raise goes toward the issues facing our neighbors.

Our home at 218 Walnut Street does a few jobs at once. By day it's a gallery and a workshop where artists make and teach. By night it's a stage with a PA and a crowd right up front.
It's also a rehearsal space, a meeting spot, and, a few times a month, a place to rent for your own show, class, or gathering. If you've got an idea that needs a room, talk to us.
Rent the SpaceA small board and a big circle of volunteers keep the doors open. (Sample bios — swap in your real team.)
